Buccaneers Week 4 Tape Study: What we see in the 2017 Giants
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to rebound from their Week 3 loss to the Vikings when they host the New York Giants this weekend.
In order to do so, they’ll rely on tape like they always do, as Buccaneers coaches and players have been hard at study I’m sure.
Well, we too can study a bit thanks to the folks who provide the NFL Game Pass, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the last few weeks.
This week, I dove into what helped the Philadelphia Eagles best the Giants in their own Week 3 contest, and I think I found a couple things to watch for this Sunday afternoon.
In fact, the more I looked into the Eagles and Giants match-up, the more I realized the Bucs really need to just about carbon-copy their strategy and game plan.
Aggressive linebacker play and smart secondary play helped the defensive line make stops in the run game and get some pressure on the quarterback as he searched for a throwing option.
A classic bend-don’t-break approach to containing talents like Odell Beckham Jr. ensured he and his teammates couldn’t completely control momentum.
On offense, it was a power running game which really got the Eagles offense going. Ultimately, it was more than just bruising backs up the gut which won the contest, but it certainly aided in kickstarting the afternoon for Philadelphia.
Let’s get down to the details.
