Adrian Peterson

The newest Arizona Cardinal lands on this list if only to represent the possibility of a ridiculous debut with his new team. Adrian Peterson is by no means what he used to be, but if he can find himself producing at a high level, maybe his career will see a revival out west. If he bursts onto the scene with a huge day on Sunday, the Bucs will be in trouble. Mike Smith‘s defense is playing the run very well through its first four games, but will be facing a determined Peterson on Sunday.

“AP” clearly grew frustrated very quickly in his short time with the Saints, so he will definitely be anxious for a new chance in Arizona. Considering the fact that he has less than a week to get the playbook down, it’s not really likely that he will get 30 carries. But he will surely look to make the most of however many carries he does get. If he can get hot and provide the Cardinals with a spark on the ground, it’ll make things much easier on Carson Palmer.

It’s also worth mentioning the fact that the Bucs rejected the idea of bringing in Peterson this past offseason. With the running back situation in a strange place, fans thought of him as a possible solution. Peterson was said to be all in on the idea as well. The only party who wanted no part of that was the Buccaneers themselves. The veteran will look to make them regret that come Sunday afternoon.
