Offensive Player of the Quarter

Now this was a tougher decision to make. Throughout the off season the focus was “Weapons for Winston”. The Buccaneers did in fact bring plenty of weapons through the draft and free agency. The one player that sticks out just a bit more despite those additions, is Cameron Brate.

Brate is known to be Jameis Winston’s security blanket. Winston knows, when needed, Brate will catch the ball in clutch situations or just for a much-needed play to keep the drive alive.

Now I’m not saying Brate hasn’t had his downs also. He did miss a touchdown pass against New England, but he’s still a top tier tight end in the League.

Per PFF, Brate is one of the top receiving tight ends in the league.

Just a season ago, Brate lead all tight ends with receiving touchdowns and continues to set the mark this year. In the past three games, he has recorded a touchdown in each, with two coming in the fourth quarter.

Brate has been the most reliable offensive weapon this first quarter, and will continue to be Winston’s bail bondsman heading down this next stretch of the season.

Because of this, and all he provides to the Buccaneers, Cameron Brate is the Offensive Player of the Quarter.
