NFC SOUTH

On Sunday, the Saints will host the Lions coming off a loss to the Panthers who play Thursday night against Philadelphia.

The Falcons are hosting Miami at 1 PM EST, and the Buccaneers travel to Arizona for a 4:05 PM EST kickoff with Larry Fitzgerald and the Cardinals.

SIT: Carolina Panthers Defense

Carson Wentz is off to a great start to his season, and if you drafted him to your fantasy football roster, you’ve been loving every minute.

Even in his team’s loss to the Chiefs, he still threw for over 300-yards and two touchdowns.

The Panthers defense is in for a long night, even at home, against one of the best young quarterbacks in the game.

START: Wide Receiver, Mike Evans – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The star Buccaneers receiver has scored a touchdown in each of his team’s wins this year. He’s been held out of the end zone in each of the losses.

I’m predicting the Bucs to win, so of course I’m predicting Evans to find a way to score. He scores, you score. It’s simple really.

SLEEPER: Running Back, Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints

The trade of Adrian Peterson clears the way for the Saints moving forward with a one-two punch combination of Mark Ingram and Kamara.

Kamara is the younger of the two, and the more explosive and versatile. Expect his contributions to this offense to increase, starting this week against the Lions defense.

AFC SOUTH

No bye weeks in the AFC South. Let’s see if there is more fantasy football value here beyond Deshaun Watson. His Texans host Cleveland while the Colts travel to Tennessee for a Monday night divisional fight with the Titans.

Jacksonville is hosting the Rams in one of four late afternoon games.

SIT: Running Back, DeMarco Murray – Tennessee Titans

Murray has only broken 100-yards, and while Marcus Mariota is dealing with injury problems, opposing defenses don’t have much more to pay attention to than the veteran running back.

He’s been inconsistent, and his offense is sputtering. I don’t care who the defense is, I’m not taking either he or Derrick Henry with any confidence.

START: Quarterback, Deshaun Watson – Houston Texans

I’ll take the proverbial “L” after saying to sit Watson last week, but can you really blame me? I don’t know anyone who started him in Week 5, and I’m guessing if you did you are a die-hard Texans fan, Clemson fan, or just didn’t have a choice.

Moving forward, you definitely have to consider him for a start, and playing Cleveland is a great opportunity for him to produce.

SLEEPER: Running Back, Marlon Mack – Indianapolis Colts

Frank Gore is not the future of the Colts running game. After his Week 5 performance, Mack just might be. He was one of my favorite players coming out of the draft, and I planned on playing the long game with him by drafting him late to stash until mid-season.

Well, we’re nearing mid-season, so now’s the time to start looking at him for a play or two in your league.
