NFC WEST

Seattle gets to watch games this weekend while the 49ers have to travel all the way across the country to face the Redskins.

Arizona is hosting the Buccaneers and the Rams are in Jacksonville.

SIT: Running Back, Carlos Hyde – San Francisco 49ers

Anytime a coach, ‘rides the hot hand’, I immediately veer away from that team’s running backs. Teams like the Patriots, Bengals, Jets, Chiefs until this year, Raiders, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals and Titans all have this mentality.

I don’t like running backs from any of those teams because there’s no consistency. If Hyde returns to full-time carries, then keep him. If not, see if you can trade him. Don’t drop him. But watch this situation.

START: Wide Receiver, Larry Fitzgerald – Arizona Cardinals

This season is very sad for me, because I always wanted to see Fitz get a ring. In various versions of Madden, he did. As a Buccaneers player.

Anyway, he may not be the same guy that nearly helped the Cardinals beat the Steelers in the Super Bowl, but he’s still a PPR King.

If Lavonte David and Kwon Alexander can’t go for the Bucs another week, then Fitzgerald is a must start against a Tampa defense which has played a very cautious defensive strategy allowing plenty of catches to opposing receivers.

SLEEPER: Running Back, Adrian Peterson – Arizona Cardinals

Peterson isn’t the same guy we knew in his prime, but he’s still got talent. He obviously has confidence in himself, or he wouldn’t have signed with a team who was very happy with their starting running back in New Orleans.

Now, he’ll get a shot to show the world he was worth the wait, and the Buccaneers get first crack at stopping him.

If the Bucs can get up early, then this debut may fall flatter than his first one did this year. If not though, expect Arizona to ride their new workhorse as much as possible.

AFC WEST

No bye weeks here, just plenty of fantasy football options.

Denver hosts Eli and – someone – on Sunday Night Football this weekend. Kansas City hosts the Steelers before that.

Oakland and Los Angeles face-off in another mid-afternoon game this Sunday as well.

SIT: Running Back, Marshawn Lynch – Oakland Raiders

The return of “Beast Mode” has been more hype than stats, but we all kind of expected it, didn’t we?

If you didn’t, and you’ve been waiting for him to breakout, you may be waiting a bit longer. Even the emergence of EJ Manuel at quarterback didn’t get Lynch over the 100-yard mark.

It isn’t happening.

START: Denver Broncos Defense

I’d basically start any defense facing Eli Manning and the no-receiver-quartet.

SLEEPER: Kansas City Chiefs Defense

The Chiefs defense is an every week start in league formats. So, sorry guys.

In DFS though, it’s all about value. This unit is definitely going to be expensive, but you could really cash in on this one.

Ben Roethlisberger almost retired in the off-season and just came off a five-interception game against the Jaguars.

If forced to, I’d take the Jacksonville secondary over KC’s current set, but it’s close. I don’t think Roethlisberger enjoys the game anymore, and it could come back to haunt his team on the road this weekend.
