Defensive End – Noah Spence

“Gumby” as Defensive Line Coach Jay Hayes calls him, Noah Spence is a defensive end who can bend in all sorts of places. Undersized with that bend although can lead to some injuries, which has been the case since Spence has stepped into the league.

Spence may be a hard-nosed gifted football player, but his nagging shoulder injury that has left him in a brace for his first two years in the NFL is something that has limited his impacts in games.

After posting five sacks his rookie year, much of the hype around Spence grew through the off-season with astronomical numbers. NFL commentators preaching his name, teammates with unrivaled support, and even legendary Buc’s defensive end Simeon Rice praising him… but where has it gone.

So far throughout the first four games, Spence has recorded one sack. Although his pressures have been taken note of, the ability to finish has been lacking.

Watch for Spence to take another step in the right direction this week versus one of the league’s least mobile quarterbacks in Carson Palmer
