Buccaneers Game Grades: 2017 Week 6 loss to Arizona Cardinals
The wide outs and tight ends, Brate in particular, finally started to make plays much into the 3rd quarter. Even being down 31 points, this group seemed to gel enough to make a comeback run.
Cameron Brate has been one of the most reliable players on the Buccaneers, to include Adam Humphries. Both showed flashes during the Bucs loss. Brate, once again, proved he’s one of the upper echelon tight ends in the league.
Finishing the day with 6 receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown, Brate leads tight ends dating back to last season with 11 touchdowns. Another cool fact is that Brate has had a touchdown in the past 3 outings.
Mike Evans did not record a catch till later in the game. He finished with 3 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. On first and ten at the Arizona 37, with 2:09 to go, Evans hauled in a 37 yard touchdown reception. Big plays for a bug guy right?
I can’t say enough about how crafty Humphries is. When he can get into the middle of the field, plays happen. Again at the end of the game with 2:28 to go, Humphries catches a short pass off a slant route for 27 yards that would assist in a drive ending in a touchdown.
All three of Fitzpatrick’s touchdown passes were caught from three different receivers. Evans, Brate, and Jackson. Overall great 2nd half showing for the skill position players. These late touchdown passes will be major contributor to this groups overall grade.
Grade: 2nd Half, B-
