Center Eric Wood

While not the flashiest position in the NFL, Eric Wood at center has been a cornerstone on the offensive line for nine seasons.

The center is the guy who controls the line and he will be a key factor in blocking and trying to contain Buccaneers superstar Gerald McCoy.

With McCoy being the force he is, Wood will have his hands full on Sunday. He will have to call all the adjustments against the blitzes the Buccaneers can now run with Kwon Alexander expected to be back at full strength this week.

Alexander’s athleticism and abilities allow defensive coordinator Mike Smith to get more creative with his blitz packages, and with better results.

While the Buccaneers defensive line has been unsuccessful at getting to the quarterback, the linebackers are very quick and can chase down Tyrod Taylor. Wood will be the guy calling out the blitzes he sees and has full control over the offensive line. If the Buccaneers are stopped from successfully blitzing and getting to Tyrod, Eric Wood will be a crucial piece for the Bills offense.

Tampa needs to make life difficult for the experienced lineman, and doing so will help greatly for a defense which has yet to gain consistent traction in the 2017 NFL Season.
