The day finally came for the Buccaneers to show off their new kicker Patrick Murray, and boy did he not disappoint.

Murray’s first showing was at the end of the Buccaneers opening drive. Don’t fall out of your seat when you read this but, Murray kicked and made a 50 yard field goal to set the Bucs up with a three point lead.

Murray finished the day with two field goals made on two attempts and three extra points. We can finally stop stressing about the Buccaneers kicking game, for now.

On the other side of the kicking squad, punter Brian Anger only had to make two punts on the day. His first punt was for 37 yards with Justin Evans as the gunner.

Evans almost had the ball downed at the one yard line, but momentum pushed him to far into the end zone resulting in a touchback.

Anger’s second punt wasn’t much better. He punted for 40 yards that ended up sailing into the end zone.

Overall, great day for Murray, not so good day for Anger.

Only having to punt twice shows the Buccaneers offense is starting to take shape. If Winston can continue to take what the defense gives him and spreads the ball around, the Bucs should have no issues scoring points.

The defense on the other hand needs to figure itself out soon. With two back to back divisional games  coming up, the Bucs need to win against two of the former NFL MVP’s in what could result in a shootout.
