Because of the way the Buccaneers season has gone, this week’s round table needs a disclaimer: This is not a signal we at The Pewter Plank have necessarily given up on the season!

The Buccaneers are currently in position to pick fifth overall in the 2018 NFL Draft with a record of 2-5. It’s the midway point of the NFL year, and with nine games remaining, it’s a good time to take a midterm look at the Bucs to see what the future may hold.

There’s no guarantee Tampa will be drafting fifth in the first round next year, and most of us probably hope they won’t.

Still, the team’s scouting department is busy building a list of prospects and gathering data on every possible prospect. This officially kicks off our draft coverage, and we’ll be bringing you outlooks on certain prospects to keep in mind when the time comes.

Again, there’s a lot of season left to play, so this is just a look at where the Buccaneers sit currently, and what could happen if the second half matches the first.
