Buccaneers Round Table: Chris Baker Apologizes to Fans
Brian DeFeo
Do I accept Chris Bakers apology, in short, no but we do deserve better. It’s too little too late. This team had all the potential in the world and at 2-6 they are a bottom five team in the league. There’s nothing about this team to be excited about now or for the rest of the season. Ryan Fitzpatrick or Ryan Griffin is going to be the starter for at least the next two weeks and downgrading the most important position isn’t going to help the team win. This team has given up at almost every facet of the game. Chris Baker is a new addition that was supposed to bolster the interior of this defensive line. He might be doing his best but if he is it’s not cutting it.
Must Read: Draft Kings Advice for Week 10
The Bucs have the worst pass rush in the NFL. They are picked apart on defense or on offense because this team can’t put together a complete game. While they have a top ranked passing offense, it is because they are playing behind and they have no ground game. That’s not on Doug Martin, he’s actually playing as well as he can. The offensive line is not opening holes for him so he keeps getting stopped for short or negative yardage. When the offense is clicking the defense can’t stop anyone. Jameis Winston’s injury may have cost them the last three games but that didn’t seem to concern the coaching staff. An injury to the throwing shoulder definitely impacted him during those games which caused the offense to be ineffective at the most inopportune times. It seems Dirk Koetter and Mike Smith may have lost the locker room and a new staff will be in next season. The Buccaneers have a better shot at the first overall pick than they do the playoffs at this point. This is a lost season at this point. Going back and studying film can’t save this season. I hope this team feels bad because I know I do. I’m sorry that Bucs fans have to go through yet another inept season of November draft talk. Let #Choke4Chubb #Stink4Saquon or #TradeDownForMultiplePicks begin.
