When it comes to Chris Baker’s apology, I appreciate the sentiment. I’m sure he and the rest of the team are disappointed in their play. The fans are disappointed, they realize that and they want to bounce back. At the same time, actions speak louder than words. The team that took the field in New Orleans last Sunday didn’t look inspired, which was disheartening to see as a fan who had so much hope heading into this season.

I say all of that to say this: I’m just indifferent toward the apology. I know Baker means well and I know there are plenty of players on this team with some pride. But at the end of the day, it’s just a tweet. It doesn’t change the results on the field or how fans are feeling. The Bucs are 2-6 and that is really frustrating.

They won’t win ten straight or even nine of ten, which means they are going to finish worse than they did a year ago. With all of that talent added, all of that hype from the offseason and the hot start against Chicago in week two, nothing came of it.

Baker’s apology was cool and I’m glad the players realize the fans are frustrated. But personally, I don’t feel like I need to accept or reject it. Indifference is truly what I feel toward the entire thing.
