According to a recent article published by Sporting News, the Buccaneers have a 1% chance of making the playoffs.

Because of this, I give the Bucs a 1% chance of winning their next four games and completing a five game winning streak. However, this is a big 1%.

It might sound a little doomsday-ish on the surface, but in reality it isn’t.

This week’s match-up against the Dolphins is a must win. Not in the, ‘win or you’re out of the playoffs’ kind of way, but in the fact the Dolphins might be one of a handful of teams whose 2017 outlook is bleaker than Tampa’s.

Following this, the Falcons present a huge challenge on the road. NFC South games don’t tend to be blowouts no matter who wins, but we all know just how out of hand games against this foe can get. Still, without Devonta Freeman on the field, Atlanta doesn’t have one of their crucial dimensions in their offense and it may open the door for a Buccaneers upset.

If they beat Miami and Atlanta, then the odds go up to about 40% they’ll pull this off. That’s a big leap after two games.

Green Bay follows the Falcons game, and coming off a win in Georgia, the Bucs should have all the confidence in the world and a little consistency to go with it. Of course, the second part there is what this team has been missing in 2017.

Detroit is the last leg, and the hardest. Like an all uphill final stretch of the Tour de France, only without the steroids.

Playoff hopes will be on the line in this one if the Bucs make it to this game at 6-6, and I’d give this team a 50/50 shot at winning that one if they get these next three.

The Lions are good, but beatable. The Buccaneers have more talent on their roster, but Detroit is playing better team and complimentary football.

If Tampa gets here then complimentary football is going to be a big part of it. Dirk Koetter hasn’t had this team above .500 since Week 3 of the season. By Week 14 we’ll know if he’ll ever get them there again.
