So, here we are again. The Bucs need a five-game winning streak to get back into the playoff conversation (although that probably isn’t even enough). It happened last year, but can it happen again this year? I’ll give it a 30 percent chance of happening. I don’t know if that’s too generous, but that’s what I’ll stick with.

Tampa Bay’s 15-10 win over the New York Jets was very unimpressive, sure. However, the Bucs showed some fight. And the upcoming schedule is somewhat manageable. The Bucs are 3-6 and now get the Dolphins (4-5), Falcons (5-4), Packers (5-4) and Lions (5-4) over the next four weeks. Sure, they all have better records, but those are some beatable teams. Miami is highly beatable, Atlanta has plenty of issues, Green Bay doesn’t have Aaron Rodgers and Detroit isn’t exactly the most consistent team. I’m not saying it’s very likely for the Bucs to win all four and get themselves to 7-6. I’m just saying it’s a possibility.

If they can continue to play defense the way they did against the Jets and find some Fitzmagic from Ryan Fitzpatrick, why couldn’t they rattle off four more wins to get to 7-6? Plus, if Jameis Winston’s shoulder heals up and he is ready to go, those games quickly become more winnable. But those are a lot of big ifs, which is why I’m only giving Tampa Bay a 30 percent chance at actually making somethi

ng out of what has been a pitiful season.
