Buccaneers Pick Six: A tale of two halves
By James Yarcho
Somehow, someway the Tampa Bay Buccaneers escaped Hard Rock Stadium with a 30-20 win over the Miami Dolphins despite one of the worst halves of football we’ve seen this year.
Well, that was interesting. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in full control of their contest with the Miami Dolphins – up 20-3 at halftime. Then, the second half happened. Jay Cutler, who had three interceptions in the first half to go with a Jarvis Landry fumble, was out with a concussion and Matt Moore took center stage. Moore was able to battle back – going 17/28 for 282 yards and a touchdown – and tie the game at 20-20 with three minutes left.
Luckily for Bucs fans, the team’s 28 yards – seven in the fourth quarter – didn’t stop them from being able to move the ball down the field to set up a Patrick Murray field goal with four seconds left on the clock to give the Buccaneers what we thought would be a 23-20 win. Then, much to the demise of Vegas odds makers, the Dolphins fumbled a lateral on the kick return which was recovered in the end zone – allowing the game to hit the over which was set at 44.
