This NFL season has been an interesting one. The Buccaneers came in as a playoff favorite, the Rams came in with questions about whether Jared Goff was truly their franchise quarterback, and both have had seasons nobody saw coming.

We all know the NFL can’t be won on paper. Having big names is great, but having a solid game plan and proper execution is more important.

Where am I going with all this? Simply, I’m hoping execution is what makes the post you’re currently reading a success.

See, while I’m truly a fan of the Buccaneers, I’m also a fan of football in general. So, this is going to be my weekly reach into all things football related. Not just in Tampa Bay, but throughout the NFL landscape.

I call it my NFL Hard Count. Here’s how it works. I’m breaking this thing up into topic sections: an issue involving the entire league – or at least a majority, the biggest surprise from the previous week, a take from a player or media I disagree with, and a singular topic I have personal opinions or thoughts about.

Yes, it’s a slide show, and I know some of you despise slide shows. I get it. If you don’t have a strong signal then it takes forever to load, or maybe you just find the clicking of next slide buttons annoying.

Well, there’s solutions to that. The Pewter Plank has an app, and if you download it and read this through it, there will be no slides. Just one long post.

However, for me as a writer, the slide format helps me break this thing up into palatable portions as each section doesn’t necessarily ease into the next. You’ll see.

So, this is the introduction. I appreciate you coming in here to see this, and hope you enjoy it. I also hope this sparks some conversations and exchanges of ideas as most Buccaneers fans are likely fans of the NFL and football in general, as well.
