One change the Buccaneers need this off season is their mentality. This team finally got a taste of winning last off season and the off season was one giant hype-fest.

The hype was only boosted when the HBO series “Hard Knocks” picked them to be featured.

While I don’t think the show was bad for the franchise, I think the players just expected a repeat performance of last year with improvements from the off-season additions.

One of the main culprits of the success has to be head coach Dirk Koetter.

He and the coaching staff seem to have the same game plans they had last season without making any adjustments. It appears like there is a lack of confidence in the coaching staff by the players because what they have been doing clearly isn’t working.

While Koetter and Mike Smith are proven NFL coordinators, they seem to have difficulty adjusting to today’s systems. The players have to have confidence in what they are doing to execute it and win games on Sunday.

While I’m not in the locker rooms I can get a sense that the some of the players don’t trust the staff. While injuries have hindered the season, every team struggles with injuries. The coaches have to make a game plan for the players on the field and they are finding ways to lose each week.

With three weeks left and nothing to play for except spoiler the Bucs are playing to save their jobs. While it may be too late for the coaches some of the Bucs players are the heart of this team they need new leadership to show them how to win games.

It will be on the Glazers to decide if Jason Licht and Dirk Koetter are the future of the franchise. I think Licht stays but another coaching change is likely for the Buccaneers this off-season.
