Defensive Tackle, Harrison Phillips – Stanford

This Cardinal prospect had a ton of tackles in his Senior year. 100 of them to be exact. He also tallied seven and a half sacks for Stanford.

Not a bad way to come out school trying to make a living as a pro.

However, there are some concerns about his athletic ability, specifically in the pass rush department.

Plenty more film work is left to be done, and workouts to try and accentuate his perceived shortcoming should help him prepare for the combing and pro day.

Currently, Phillips is in the Day 2 leaning into Day 1 category, meaning strong off-season workouts will either cement him as a second or third round guy, or catapult him into the back end of the first round.

Hard to find good stats in blowout losses, but scouts and teams will learn more from effort and individual performance than anything. Phillips left the Senior Bowl with two tackles and a hit on the quarterback.

If he can show some ability in agility drills without losing the motor which has helped him be so successful already, then the Buccaneers could very well place a target on him.

Improving the pass rush has already been labeled as a priority by the team’s general manager, and getting someone in the middle who can help break the line along with Gerald McCoy would certainly help matters.

Keep a close eye on him as we proceed through the draft season.
