A few weeks ago, our beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers were yet again ranked dead last in the league.  This time it had nothing to do with a stat line or game play.  Instead, it was their uniforms.

As it turns out, some 49ers blog writer named Matt Barrows who works for the Sacramento Bee decided to rank all 32 teams’ uniforms, and in his ranking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniforms came in dead last.

A position with which I, and many of my fellow Bucs fans, took umbrage. This story was picked up by our very own Tampa Bay Times; which is, of course, what brought it to our attention.

Upon reading Barrow’s ranking, he doesn’t give a rhyme or reason for how he ranked the uniforms, but only said,

"Here’s a 1-32 ranking in which I tried very hard to insult your favorite team"

Writing an article just meant to draw the ire of people across the country seems like a hacky thing to do in an offseason.   Which made me think, if that hack can do it, then so can this hack.

But How to Rank Them?

Unlike Barrows, I actually tried to do something more than just insert my own personal opinion.  At first, this may seem like an easy task, but it’s rather daunting when you’re looking at pictures of 32 different uniforms.

So, for my method I employed a tried and true method: Bracketology.

That’s right, I set up a bracket. Dividing the teams by conference then division, facing off North and South divisions, then East and West divisions.

Once that was done, I then ranked all the teams according to how to the bracket turned out.  But not to be done there – because we know seeding can play a role – I then went back and used good ol’ personal opinion to see if any team should be moved up or down on the ranking.

So, with that said, I present to you, my 32 team NFL Uniform Ranking.
