When this is published, we’ll all be about two and a half days from seeing who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. If they take a player at seven.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are just one of several teams speculated as trade-back candidates in an off-season which has already seen more trade activity than usual.

This makes things a whole lot of fun, and a little more complicated for those of us who like to dip our toes into the pool of realistic imagination. You might call us, mock drafters.

I am a mock drafter. A proud one at that. The thought of peering into the mutli-dimensional what-ifs of the NFL Draft every year not only put a bow on the previous year of player evaluations, but also serves to get the blood flowing a bit in the proverbial hype machines surrounding the league.

My final mock draft of the off-season will go up on The Pewter Plank the morning of draft day. Until then, let’s take a look at three of the more widespread mocks and see what we found.
