. Quarterback. Wyoming. Josh Allen. 1. player. 53

It seems the only quarterback we haven’t seen mocked to the Browns at the top of the draft has been the one from UCLA.

Either way, I’m finally getting on board with the idea Cleveland needs to dictate their own future and take the quarterback they want.

There’s no tricks here. The guy with the biggest arm and the most room to grow is the guy who quarterback guru Hue Jackson will welcome to the franchise.

Tyrod Taylor will get a year, maybe two, to see what he can do here. Ultimately, the goal will be for the Browns to turn Josh Allen’s strong arm and accuracy concerns into the future at quarterback.

Let’s just hope Taylor can do enough to keep Jackson from panic starting the rookie.

2. player. 31. . Running Back. Penn State. Saquon Barkley

I’ve held firm on my belief the Giants should be working towards trying to make things happen with Eli Manning again rather than planning to replace him.

This makes drafting the best overall talent on the board the right move. New York needs plenty of help, but simply getting Odell Beckham Jr. back will do wonders for the offense.

Adding Saquon Barkley just adds another wrinkle, and if they can strike a one-year deal with Dez Bryant after the draft then this offense will be something to see in 2018.

USC. Sam Darnold. 3. player. 30. . Quarterback

Apparently Jets fans hate the idea of Allen coming to their team, so seeing him go to Cleveland with the first pick will be reason to celebrate enough.

Getting the guy many feel is the actual top quarterback in this year’s class is even better.

Sam Darnold’s stock seems to be falling at the worst possible moment, but if the worst thing to happen in his NFL career is a fall from number one to number three then he’ll be fine I’m sure.

Meanwhile, the Jets get a young quarterback to groom behind Josh McCown and will hopefully play well enough to erase all those Christian Hackenberg jokes.

. Quarterback. UCLA. Josh Rosen. 4. player. 16

(trade with Cleveland Browns)

This trade is about even on the draft pick value chart and the Cleveland Browns get two more firsts to go with the one they already spent. Win-win for Cleveland, and Buffalo gets their quarterback.

I’ll admit Oklahoma’s quarterback fits the city of Buffalo better than Josh Rosen, but he doesn’t fit what Sean McDermott wants at quarterback.

Tyrod Taylor was a mobile quarterback unafraid to improvise behind a suspect offensive line. Nathan Peterman is a stand in the pocket, go down with the ship type.

He liked the second type apparently. So Rosen is the pick. Plus, Buffalo needs a guy who needs little to know polishing before stepping on the field and UCLA’s option is the most NFL ready on the board.

NC State. Bradley Chubb. 5. player. 45. . Defensive End

Many expect John Elway to pursue a quarterback here, even if the Bills trade ahead and nab one off the board in front of them.

I say they go a different way. Instead of dumping even more resources into a position which just hasn’t panned out right for them, they turn to re-building what made the Broncos such a dangerous team just a few years ago.

Getting after opposing quarterbacks will keep pressure off the secondary missing Aqib Talib and keep scores low enough Denver can figure out how to get their offense moving with Case Keenum.

Perhaps a second-round quarterback is in order, but for now, it’s Bradley Chubb over the fourth quarterback.
