The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will select the first new member of their franchise tonight. Who do we believe will be the pick?

It’s draft day!!! Finally, months of speculation, mock drafts, analysis, horrendous takes, and anticipation have reached their peak and all the answers will begin to be answered starting at 8 p.m. in Arlington. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a few directions they could go in, but what will be the name that gets announced as the commissioner Roger Goodell steps up to the podium?

We felt it was best to address this in one of our roundtable discussions. There aren’t many people that view the draft the same way, so how does The Pewter Plank staff see the dominoes begin to fall with that first selection?

The recent sexy name linked to the Buccaneers is Florida State safety Derwin James. He fills a need and would be arguably one of the best talents available if the draft experts and talking heads are correct. But what if one of the “big three” falls to the Buccaneers? What if another team covets a quarterback who is sitting there and they offer a plethora of picks to Jason Licht in exchange for his pick and the opportunity to transform their franchise?

This draft is going to get crazy, there’s no doubt about it. But when the smoke clears and the dust settles, who will be donning the red and pewter?
