Here we are though, one day into the NFL Draft and Vita Vea is a Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie, Derwin James is a Chargers rookie and Derrius Guice came into the second round waiting to find out where he would start his NFL career.

Bucs fans wanted a running back early in day two. The top three names on the board were Georgia’s Nick Chubb, USC’s Ronald Jones, and Guice.

Chubb was first off the board to the Cleveland Browns at pick 35. Leaving Guice and Jones on the board with two Indianapolis Colts picks standing behind the Bucs and a running back opportunity.

The first surprise of round two came with the first Colts pick when they took linebacker Darius Leonard. Not the linebacker most expected, but hey, they like who they like.

Indianapolis didn’t go running back with either of their two early picks, and both Guice and Jones were left in the lap of Jason Licht.

And with the 38th selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected USC running back, Ronald Jones!

Those who had Guice ranked higher than Jones likely had him higher than most of the running backs taken prior to this selection. Whether it’s character related or just flat out talent related, the Bucs went with Jones over the LSU back.

What do you think of the pic Bucs fans? Sound off in the comments and come back for more NFL Draft coverage as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to build their 2018 roster!
