3. He Has Interests in Improv and Drama

Now, this is interesting. Alex Cappa, the long-haired offensive lineman with a massive build, reportedly enjoys improvisation and drama. According to an article from Mercury News, those interests came from high school. However, those interests seem to still be active, as his Humboldt State profile mentions them, along with baseball, as things he enjoys. This section of the Mercury News article seems to capture the difference between his on-field and off-field personalities:

"Still, from snap to whistle, Cappa isn’t in the business of making friends, although he’ll extend a hand to pick you up after he’s knocked you down. “To me, that’s just how you play football,” Cappa said. “People describe it as a mean streak but it’s not like I’m trying to be mean. There are different rules out there on the football field than there are in normal life.”"

His trainer leading up to the draft, former Pro Bowl lineman LeCharles Bentley, said Cappa “doesn’t walk around like Billy Badass because he doesn’t have to.” From watching Cappa throw people around the field on film, you’d probably think he’s a big monster off the field as well. Apparently, that isn’t the case.

Buccaneer fans, and football fans in general, got to see Tampa Bay rookies go through some light hazing on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” last August. Those rookies had to sing for the rest of the team. Might Cappa have to do some improv acting for his teammates during training camp? Everyone’s favorite regional manager, Dunder Mifflin’s Michael Scott, would approve.
