The Tampa Bay Buccaneers used their sixth round pick on Wisconsin linebacker Jack Cichy. Here, we have three things you need to know about the former Badger.

Despite linebacker being a position of strength for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, general manager Jason Licht chose to add another. With his sixth round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Licht took a chance on Wisconsin linebacker Jack Cichy. The selection rounds out Tampa Bay’s 2018 draft class, though the team will add some undrafted free agents in the coming days.

Lavonte David and Kwon Alexander are two of the team’s biggest defensive leaders. Kendell Beckwith came on strong as a rookie in 2017 and will figure heavily into the future. Adarius Glanton and Devante Bond round out the team’s position group, though it’s unlikely that either guy has a spot locked down heading into the offseason workouts and training camp.

Now, Cichy joins the mix with hopes of finding a role somewhere. A door could potentially be open with the impending absence of Beckwith, who suffered an ankle injury in a car accident earlier this offseason. He is expected to miss the offseason programs, but the Bucs hope he can make it back for week one. In case that doesn’t happen, there are a few options in place to step in for him. That now includes Cichy.

Here, we have three things you need to know about the sixth-rounder.
