Final Verdict
No surprise as to who finishes first: Drew Brees. He’s the second or third best quarterback in the entire league, so the other three Southern quarterbacks shouldn’t feel any shame.
The second is Matt Ryan; it’s no surprise that the top two quarterbacks also played for the top two teams in the division. Ryan is a prototypical drop-back passer and at the top of his game can be quite good.
Jameis Winston is my third quarterback in the division. If a Panther fan sees this I’m sure they’ll be livid, but Winston is simply better at throwing footballs than Cam Newton. He’s better than most quarterbacks his age, and is athletic enough to make some game-changing plays with his legs.
That leaves one Cameron Newton as the last ranked quarterback in the South. A controversial take I’m sure, but not much of a slight against Newton when you consider the competition.

Well, that’s my take on how the NFC South quarterbacks stack up against one another. What do you think, Buccaneer fans? Is Jameis Winston in the right spot? Sound off with your own list, and check back next week for a look at the South running backs.
