Eric Reid

Reid has been in the headlines for his decision to kneel during the national anthem and it has overshadowed his terrific play on the field.

Despite what some may think of his choice, Reid is a good safety and should have a job. In five seasons with the 49ers he was a staple in the San Francisco secondary.

Last year, Reid had one of his best campaigns. He was ranked as the 30th best safety by Pro Football Focus. He was a major factor in the run game and would be an immediate upgrade over Tandy or Conte.

Alike Vaccaro, Reid can play all over the field. He is a stout playing against the run and can hold his own in coverage.

Reid recently filed a collusion suit against the NFL and will get plenty of media coverage for his protests, but that shouldn’t be a problem if he is helping the Buccaneers win football games.
