Which Tampa Bay Buccaneer will become a star this season? Which player needs a big year to turn his career around? Who has flown under the radar this offseason?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers football is almost here. Before the season kicks-off, now is the perfect time to predict who will be the Bucs rising star, breakout player and the team’s rebound performer.

There are plenty of young players who are poised to fill these categories on the Bucs. Let’s take a look who fits the bill for each one.

Breakout performer: Justin Evans, Safety

The Tampa Bay secondary is desperate for a star. If the league’s worst pass defense in 2017 is going to improve, Justin Evans needs to play a massive role.

Last season, Evans began to find his footing as he solidified his role as the starting free safety. He had 50 tackles and three interceptions on the season. Although, Evans still has work to do, especially in the tackling department.

The Texas A&M product brings a hard-hitting attitude to Tampa’s secondary but he is prone to big misses as he tries to lay the boom. With another year under his belt, Evans will have a better understanding of the defense and when to make a bone-crushing hit.
