5 dark horse candidates to make Buccaneers final roster
By Ryan Doyle
Donnie Ernsberger, TE
Alike Watson, Donnie Ernsberger finds himself in a tough situation. Not only are Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard locks to start, the Bucs seem to like what they have in Anthony Auclair.
Ernsberger will have to play himself onto the roster and force Tampa Bay to keep four tight ends. He was a solid receiving threat at Western Michigan and if he can excel on special teams, his chances of making the roster will only grow.
Demone Harris, DE
The Buccaneers should be stout in the trenches. The defensive line features Pro Bowlers who could finally turn the defense around. Demone Harris may be at the bottom of the totem pole but sometimes going young is the right call.
Veterans William Gholston and Will Clarke project to be solid rotational pieces. However, they have probably reached their potential and won’t be able to bring anything else to the table. If the Buccaneers want to take a risk, they could invest in Harris.
Allowing the 22-year-old to play at the bottom of the depth chart and snag a handful of snaps in his rookie year could do wonders for his development.
Which under the radar guys do you think can make the roster?
