Options at outside linebacker

Of course, Lavonte David and Kendell Beckwith are terrific options at outside linebacker. Unfortunately, Beckwith might not be ready to go once the regular season begins and Tampa Bay needs to prepare his replacement.

Luckily, it appears some the Bucs have some options, which didn’t appear to be the case heading into training camp. Adarius Taylor continues to be the favorite to replace Beckwith but Jack Cichy, Cameron Lynch and Devante Bond have all become candidates for the role.

Regardless of who wins the job the Bucs now have the ability to mix and match depending on the situation. If one of the backers has a knack for sniffing out the run, he could be the man on early downs and same goes for the better coverage guys.

Landing prime talent wasn’t the issue at linebacker for the Buccaneers, it was finding depth. With Beckwith out, there were concerns about the linebacking corps and it appears there are enough capable players to survive until the unit is fully healthy.
