Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2018 roster cuts: Live tracker
By Ryan Doyle
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers need to cut their 90-man preseason roster down to 53 by Saturday afternoon. Check here for all of the live updates.
The next few days won’t be easy for Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter and general manager Jason Licht. They will have to let go of nearly 40 players as they try to build a championship contending roster.
After almost one full day after the preseason finale, Tampa Bay already cut seven players. The team has 31 moves to make to make it to 53. The deadline to trim the roster to 53 players is at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4.
Check out the latest 53-man roster projection as well as analysis on which bubble players deserve to make the team, and players who might be on the chopping block.
All of the moves thus far have been expected. Most of the players cut joined the team late into training camp or barely saw time in the preseason games.

Confirmed cuts:
Running back Charles Sims
Sims went down with an injury in camp and was waived with an injury settlement. He was in the mix for the final running back spot but undrafted free agent Shaun Wilson will likely assume the third-down back role in 2018.
Defensive tackle Adam Reth
Defensive tackle Nathan Bazata
Tight end Matt Weiser
Safety Josh Liddell
Running back Devine Redding
Wide receiver Donteea Dye
Quarterback Austin Allen
Austin Allen was the fourth quarterback on the roster and didn’t receive many reps in training camp. Tampa Bay had to ensure Ryan Griffin had enough snaps as he will be the backup for the first three weeks of the season. Plus, Jameis Winston needed time to stay fresh before he serves his three-game suspension.
Safety Josh Robinson
This one was a shock. Robinson brings no value as a defensive back, but he has been one of the best special team players. He was a team captain and a fan favorite.
Guard Givens Price
Cornerback Marko Myers
Tight end Tanner Hudson
Defensive tackle DaVonte Lambert
Lambert could be a candidate for the practice sqaud. With the injuries at defensive tackle, it would be smart to have one handy.
Guard Ruben Holcomb
Tackle Jerry Ugokwe
Safety Keith Tandy
Another surprise. Tandy entered camp as the primary backup safety. Rookie Jordan Whitehead may have shown enough during training camp to lock down the role.
Running back Dare Ogunbowale
Ogunbowale was terrific in the preseason. Should be on the practice squad if he doesn’t get claimed.
Defensive end Pat O’Connor
Safety Godwin Igwebuike
Wide receiver Bobo Wilson
Wide receiver Bernard Reedy
Linebacker Nigel Harris
Nigel Harris was in the middle of the Buccaneers battle for the last two linebacker spots. Cameron Lynch and Jack Cichy just edged him out.
Defensive end Demone Harris
Tackle Cole Boozer
Tackle Brad Seaton
Defensive end Evan Perrizo
Cornerback Javien Elliot
Tackle Jarron Jones
Tackle Cole Gardner
Cornerback Amari Coleman
Longsnapper Garrison Sanborn
Injured Reserve: Devante Bond, Riley Bullough
