“Hard Knocks” star Carl Nassib is heading to Tampa Bay to play for the Buccaneers. Nassib will provide depth along the defensive line.

According to The Athletic’s Greg Auman, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed former Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Carl Nassib off of waivers.

A third-round pick out of Penn State, Nassib racked up 5.5 sacks in two years with Cleveland. Nassib will provide quality depth to one of the best units on the Buccaneers defense.

Football fans across the nation have become familiar with Nassib thanks to HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” On the show, Nassib was providing his teammates with some critical financial advice.

Take a look:

At 6’7″, 275 pounds, Nassib put together an impressive career at Penn State. He set the school’s sack record with 15.5 back in 2015, propelling him to a day-two pick in the NFL Draft.

The addition of Nassib is the first significant waiver wire move for Tampa Bay, and it’s a good one. Nassib is a low-risk move. He has the potential to be a factor on passing downs, and his contract won’t take up much of the salary cap.

He may not make a significant impact in 2018, but this is a fun move for the Buccaneers. Adding Nassib will make plenty of headlines and it had the fan base pumped up on social media.

In a move to clear a roster spot for Nassib, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported that Will Clarke was released.
