Wide Receivers: A+

The Bucs receivers dominated the Saints secondary. Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson each went over 140 yards and had 3 touchdowns total between them. Chris Godwin played a great game too. He only had 41 total yards, but he did have a touchdown. He also made an impressive diving catch. It was a small taste of what should be a very good year for him.

Adam Humphries had a quiet night with only 27 yards, but he could have had a much bigger game if his 65-yard touchdown didn’t get called back by a holding penalty. The Bucs receivers are going to be a lot to handle this season. Marshon Lattimore covered Mike Evans one-on-one most of the day with no luck at all. I don’t see how any team can play man-to-man coverage against this receiving corps.

Tight Ends: C

Again, the tight ends didn’t do anything special, but they didn’t make any big mistakes either. Cameron Brate had a very quiet game but O.J. Howard showed off superstar potential. Howard only had 54 total yards, but he looks uncoverable.

Offensive line: A+

The Bucs offensive line played a great game.  They did not allow any sacks; a massive achievement against Cameron Jordan and company. What I liked most about how the offensive line was their nastiness led by new center Ryan Jensen. Every time there was a roughing the passer penalty the offensive line was right there ready to fight. The Bucs won’t be pushed around anymore.
