Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston returned to practice on Wednesday and the team also released their initial injury report for Week 4.
For the first time in nearly a month, Jameis Winston practiced with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick went through positional drills, and there was no word about which quarterback would be starting this week’s game.
Even reports live from practice couldn’t take much away from the field work itself, as the Buccaneers continue to keep the quarterback situation a secret.
Still, it’s exciting to see Winston back in the facility. After a tumultuous offseason, Winston can focus on just football from here on out.
“Yesterday was kind of an off day, so I got here at about 5:30 ,” Winston said, according to transcripts released by the organization. “Didn’t see a bunch of smiling faces coming in, but today everybody came back energetic and it felt like home. I’m excited to be back.”
Winston showed full support for Fitzpatrick and the rest of his teammates when speaking to the media on Wednesday. He also played his part by staying in shape. Winston replicated Bucs practices with former professional players in the Florida area.
“I’m excited for Fitz and I’m excited as a whole as a team were playing very good,” Winston said. “Like I said, I’m happy to be back in the building and we’ve just got to keep it up.”
Although the Buccaneers haven’t announced a starter, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said that ‘all signs have pointed’ towards Fitzpatrick getting the nod for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

Bad news in the trenches. While Vita Vea and Gerald McCoy were able to participate in a portion of the practice, it doesn’t look like Beaut Allen will be able to play on Sunday. The injury problems at defensive tackle continue.
On the bright side, the safety position should have some depth on Sunday. Both Jordan Whitehead and Isaiah Johnson were able to put in a full day of work.
