The Tampa Bay Buccaneers first quarter of the 2018 season is in the books, who are the MVPs through the first four games?
It’s a quarter of the way through the 2018 season, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are sitting at 2-2. It’s a place no one thought the Bucs would be four weeks into the season.
Bucs fans have already experienced the highs and lows this young season has to offer. From starting the season with back-to-back upset wins over two playoff teams to being embarrassed by Mitchell Trubisky. There’s no telling what the rest of the season has in store.
Through four weeks, the offense has carried the Buccaneers. Their pair of wins came from the arm of Ryan Fitzpatrick and the talented receivers around him. Oh, the often unnoticed offensive line performed at its best.
The next two weeks were the complete opposite. Fitzpatrick turned the ball over, and the offensive line allowed constant pressure.
On the defensive side of the ball, it wasn’t a rollercoaster. There was no meteoric rise, just a plummeting drop towards the bottom of the league. The Tampa Bay defense has allowed more yards per game than any other team up to this point, a terrible look for defensive coordinator Mike Smith.
As crazy as it might have been, the beginning of the season provided plenty of standout performers. Take a look at a pair of MVPs on both sides of the football.
