Defensive MVPs

DE Jason Pierre Paul

The Bucs have been trying to find a legit pass rusher since Simeon Rice. Jason Pierre-Paul could be the answer. After general manager Jason Licht traded for him in the offseason, he has been everything the Tampa Bay front office could have hoped for.

He’s had an excellent start to the season by racking up four sacks and 17 total tackles. ‘JPP’ has been disruptive in both the run game and pass game and has been a significant presence on their defense.

S Justin Evans

Watching the Bucs secondary has been hard at times this season, but one player who has been putting on a show is Justin Evans.

I had predicted that Evans would break out this season, and he has done a solid job of making me look smart so far. Through four games Evans has 21 tackles, 1 Int, one fumble recovery and one touchdown. Evans has filled up the stat sheet and been one of the few bright spots in the defensive backfield.

Alongside versatile safety Jordan Whitehead, Evans can prove that he should be a mainstay as Tampa Bay continues to rebuild their secondary.
