The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had their fair share of shocking moments and performances to start the year. Who are the five biggest surprises on Tampa Bay’s roster?

Tampa Bay’s had an odd start to the 2018 season. The Bucs sat atop the NFL during the height of the short but unforgettable run of ‘FitzMagic’. They then lost in embarrassing fashing to the Chicago Bears.

Peaks and valleys are part of every NFL season. However, the Buccaneers first quarter seems unique.

Offensively, Tampa Bay has clicked. The talented receivers have dominated every secondary put in front of them and the quarterbacks have done enough to put points on the board.

Sitting at 2-2, the Bucs are in a better position than most pundits predicted. The defense needs to be sorted out to avoid another disastrous season, but the offense will keep Tampa Bay competitive in most games.

The bulk of the Bucs issues lie on the defensive side of the ball. Defensive coordinator Mike Smith is already on the hot seat (at least in the eyes of the fanbase) and the secondary is allowing the most passing yards in the league.

Through the first five weeks of the season, the Buccaneers have had their fair share of surprises. From veterans finding extra motivation to new coaches calling the shots, it’s a new-look Buccaneers team in 2018.
