Despite almost handing the game to the Cleveland Browns, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to sneak away with an overtime win. Here’s what to take away from the victory.

For most Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans, it probably doesn’t feel like victory Monday.

The Bucs were extremely fortunate that they came away with a win against the Cleveland Browns, despite the subpar play from the team throughout overtime.

For the first time all season, the Tampa Bay defense showed up to play. The pass rush got after Baker Mayfield as the Bucs managed a season-high five sacks.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Bucs offense struggled to take advantage of the defense’s steady effort.  Poor throws,  bad drops and a handful of fumbles stopped the offense in its tracks.

Although the Browns defense played well, self-inflicted wounds are how this game went to overtime.

Here are the biggest takeaways from the Buccaneers win over the Browns:

Carl Nassib’s Revenge Game

The Browns cut Carl Nassib before the season, and he had something to prove on Sunday. Nassib was after Mayfield for the entire game and came away with a pair of sacks.

Nassib’s production provided a significant boost to the Buccaneers defensive line with Gerald McCoy and Vinny Curry both sidelined with injuries. He is best suited in a rotational role, but Nassib is solid depth and can produce in a spot start during the season.

It was a small part of Sunday’s game, but it’s always nice seeing a player get the last laugh against his former team.
