Four-time All-Pro NaVorro Bowman could be a short-term replacement for Alexander. Bowman spent parts of last season with the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders.

Despite getting cut by the 49ers mid-season, Bowman was able to tag along with the Raiders and find some success. In 10 games, he managed 58 total tackles, an interception and five tackles for loss.

With a lengthy injury history, Bowman proved he can still be a viable option in spurts. Shockingly, he hasn’t signed with a team yet. He put together a solid 2018 campaign, but age and health concerns likely scared some franchises away.

Now, the Buccaneers have no other choice than to take a risk on a veteran, even one with trouble staying on the field. He won’t be anywhere near the same player that he was in San Francisco, but Bowman would be a smart leader who can hold down the fort for the remainder of the season, assuming he is in shape.
