Veteran-heavy roster

After Sunday’s loss, many Buccaneers veterans refused to comment following the game. Over the past few weeks, Gerald McCoy hasn’t even commented on the defense’s performance.

Frustration is at an all-time high in the locker room for sure. DeSean Jackson and Jason Pierre-Paul know what winning feels like. If the Bucs have any hope of making a run during the second half of the season, the veterans need to lead.

McCoy finally spoke on Monday and broke down why hope isn’t lost.

“We have a chance to turn this thing around,” McCoy said. “We’ve just got to come out and play, man. We’ve got to be more disciplined all of us, myself included – especially me – and we’ve just got to tackle better.”

With the season on the brink, Tampa Bay’s veterans need to get the team in order. The Bucs veterans aren’t just fringe players. They are All-Pros, Pro Bowlers and Super Bowl Champions; they need to wake the rest of the roster up.

Hope is dwindling, but the Bucs veterans can rally around each other and regroup with a winnable stretch of games on the horizon.
