Scenario 2: Dirk Koetter does just enough

Similar to the previous scenario, the Buccaneers could string together a few wins, but it could signal something in the ownership that tells them to give Koetter one more chance.

There’s no doubt the Buccaneers faithful will be up in arms, but the Glazers are known to have a very long leash with their coaching staff and general manager. Tampa Bay can indeed show strides late in the year, and he could stick around.

The Bucs won in Week 17 last year, but they were on the brink late last year, and they couldn’t break through.

The Bucs have a solid foundation on offense. Star players like Mike Evans and O.J. Howard headline an impressive arsenal of receivers. Tampa also boasts a young quarterback with immense talent. The thinking could be that with stability on the sideline, Tampa can get over the hump.
