The Andrew Adams Show
Talk about a career day.
Third-year safety Andrew Adams intercepted Cam Newton three times, tying a Buccaneers franchise record. Adams has received limited playing time as the team’s third safety. Before Sunday’s game, he had 14 tackles, and three passes defended.
The former New York Giants defensive back was signed following Chris Conte‘s season-ending injury back in October.
Tampa Bay was forced to turn to backups as four starting defensive backs ended up on the sideline. Cornerbacks Carlton Davis, Brent Grimes and M.J. Stewart all missed the contest.
When Justin Evans also left the game, it was up to a paper-thin secondary to contain Newton and company. Adams was one of those players and made the most of the opportunity.
