Buccaneers seven-round 2019 NFL Mock Draft
By Ryan Doyle
Tampa Bay’s addition of talent in the defensive backfield shouldn’t stop in free agency. The Buccaneers need to continue to improve their secondary after a historically bad 2018.
With the Brent Grimes era coming to an end, the Bucs can add another young cornerback into the mix. Carlton Davis has done a solid job on the outside this season, but the Bucs don’t have another legitimate outside corner on the roster.
Both M.J. Stewart and Vernon Hargreaves are nickel corners. Notre Dame’s Julian Love could be the answer opposite Davis.
Love has filled the stat sheet at Notre Dame, becoming the school’s all-time leader of pass break-ups earlier this season. He is a Thorpe Award Finalist and is a crucial reason as to why the Fighting Irish boast an undefeated record.
As the Bucs continue to transform their secondary, Love could be the playmaker the defense needs.
