G Alex Cappa

Heading into the season, it was apparent that the right guard spot would be a problem for the Buccaneers.

It became one of the most significant issues within the Bucs offense. Caleb Benenoch, Evan Smith and now Alex Cappa have not been able to produce.

Most assumed that Cappa would eventually take over at right guard in 2018 with Benenoch’s ineffectiveness. However, Cappa spent most of the season as a healthy scratch, appearing in the Bucs last four games.

Cappa has rotated in with Benenoch in each contest but has yet to take over as the starter.

The Bucs are taking Cappa along slowly. Although Benenoch ranks as the third worst graded guard in all of football according to Pro Football Focus, Cappa still sits behind him in the depth chart.

With two games left to play, it would be nice to see Cappa improve, especially in the run blocking department. General manager Jason Licht selected him in the third round to solve the right guard problem. He needs to make strides with two games left to play.
