Next season could be the year the Tampa Bay Buccaneers become a contender again. If they have championship aspirations, they need to make these moves to get there.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers face a franchise-altering offseason. Their head coach will likely be fired, and their quarterback is heading into the final season of his contract.

With so much hanging on to the upcoming offseason, a few moves could send the Bucs from the NFC South cellar to the top of the conference.

Tampa Bay already has an elite offense, but their struggling defense and questionable coaching held them back in 2018.

Next year’s team could be the team to snap the 11-year playoff drought finally. That will start with a coaching search. Selecting the right man to lead the Bucs will be the first step towards a second Super Bowl trophy in Tampa Bay.

Rounding out the roster will be the next step. The Bucs have a semblance of an identity. Behind their air raid offense, a defense filled with stars in the front seven could become a strength if depth and the weak secondary is addressed in the offseason.

It may not seem like it now, but every year there is a surprise team that makes the jump from first to worst, if the Buccaneers follow this blueprint, it could be them.
