. Linebacker. Cardinals. Deone Bucannon. 7. player. 32

Deone Bucannon‘s time in Arizona is up. He is having his worst statistical under new head coach Steve Wilks. Without a consistent role, Bucannon will likely look for greener pastures with free agency looming. Once he becomes available, Tampa should express interest immediately.

Versatility is critical in today’s NFL. Players that are able to play multiple positions in a league where offenses are at a constant advantage is a huge plus. Bucannon has made a career out of it.

With the Cardinals, Bucannon has played a linebacker/safety hybrid. Tampa has found a player who can fill that role in Andrew Adams. The former New York Giants safety was solid as a mid-season signing, but he isn’t a long-term answer. Adams doesn’t have the talent that Bucannon possesses.

Finding a player who can play linebacker in dime packages but also be willing to stop the run if needed is rare. As the Bucs search high and low for playmakers, they won’t have to look far. Bucannon is the real deal.
