Matt Campbell – Iowa State

A hidden gem in the college ranks, Matt Campbell, is another young candidate that has garnered buzz.

The New York Jets requested to interview Campbell, but he declined. There’s a chance that Campbell isn’t ready to leap to the NFL level just yet, but the Buccaneers are an intriguing team. They have a young quarterback and a talented roster to build on.

Campbell has led both Toledo and Iowa State to multiple bowl appearances and Top 25 rankings. Soon enough, Campbell will have a brilliant resume that will land him a top job in a  Power Five conference or the NFL.

Hiring Campbell will come out of right field.  It would mirror the Bucs decision to hire Greg Schiano back in 2012.

Still, out of all of the college coaches, Campbell may be one that is willing to take the risk and go to Tampa Bay. Coaches like Jim Harbaugh and Dabo Swinney won’t end up with the Buccaneers, an up-and-comer like Campbell might.
