Rex Ryan – ESPN

Hey, this is about under the radar candidates right?

Well, Rex Ryan is reportedly a candidate for the Miami Dolphins job, so what’s to say he wouldn’t take a short drive up north to Tampa Bay?

Ryan began his head coaching career as a superstar. In the Big Apple, he led the New York Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship games. In his next six seasons with the Jets and Buffalo Bills, Ryan hasn’t made the playoffs, and his team never finished better than .500.

Still, Ryan has his supporters. A boisterous leader that won’t back down from media, or the opposition. His attitude has found him as one of the most beloved “player’s coaches” in the game. His former players constantly have his back. They started a campaign to get him to become the next head coach of the University of Miami a week ago.

Ryan would be able to transform the Buccanneers defense, but at what cost? He would have to prove that his antics of the past are behind him for Licht to seriously consider him as a candidate for the Tampa Bay job.
