As the NFL Playoffs begin, The Pewter Plank debuts its second 2019 Buccaneers Mock Draft. With a new coach likely in tow soon, could the Bucs’ Draft strategy change?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coaching search has taken center stage, but Mock Draft season is already well underway.

Tampa Bay interviewed Bruce Arians on Saturday, and the general feeling is that he will be the team’s next head coach. Although Jason Licht will still be making the final decision on the organization’s Draft picks, Arians will surely get to play a significant role in those choices as well.

Whoever the next head coach could be the reason as to why the Bucs prioritize certain positions come April.

One thing is for sure, Tampa will need to fill a ton of holes this offseason. Licht will continue to rebuild the defense. Something he tried to do in 2017 but poor coaching and injuries halted all progress the unit might have made.

Offensively, Tampa Bay needs to find an answer at running back and fix their problems at right guard. The tackle position may also become a problem with Donovan Smith headed for free agency.

Tampa Bay can attack the Draft in so many different ways. They are fortunate to hold the fifth overall pick this season and are in an excellent position to either take an elite talent or to trade down and incur more picks.
