Defensive back. Florida. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. 70. player. 48.

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson was all over the stat sheet for the Florida Gators in 2018. He had 71 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, four interceptions and two defensive interceptions.

He was all over the stat sheet because he was all over the field for the Gators. Gardner-Johnson played both nickel corner and safety and could be a versatile weapon for the Bucs young defensive backfield.

The one knock on him was his inconsistency. He wasn’t a sure tackler and had some severe lapses in coverage. He is still someone that can cause turnovers and make up for his mistakes with one huge play.

Gardner-Johnson may not fall into the third round, but if he is still on the board and the Bucs are within striking distance, it could be worth it to trade up and grab him.

His fit may not be entirely clear just yet, but that’s why he could be even more valuable for Tampa Bay, they need help everywhere.
